Walking In Truth
"For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." ~ 3 John 1:3-4
In his third letter, the apostle John expresses his ultimate pastoral joy: hearing that his spiritual children are walking in the truth. To walk in truth means more than simply agreeing with correct theology; it invites us to align our daily conduct, choices, and relationships completely with the reality of God’s Word. As Jesus followers, we live in a culture that constantly urges us to define our own reality, yet Scripture calls us to a higher standard of absolute biblical integrity. While our flesh may stumble, God's grace provides both forgiveness for our missteps and the power through the Holy Spirit to turn back to His paths when we repent. Let us examine our steps to ensure our private lives match our public profession of faith. There is no greater testimony to a watching world than to see God's people steadfastly living out His truth every single day.
